Recommended Use
Designed for outdoor garden and backyard settings. Ideal for attracting small to medium wild birds such as finches, sparrows, and chickadees. Best hung from a branch, hook, or pergola at 5–6 ft height with clear sightlines. Not suitable for indoor use or covered storage areas.
How to Use
- Peel the protective film from the transparent seed-window panels before first use.
- Open the lift-top lid, fill with up to 2.2 lbs of wild bird seed, close the lid, and hang using the included 15.75 in chain from any outdoor hook or branch.
Care and Maintenance
Wipe the iron surfaces with a damp cloth weekly to remove seed residue and bird droppings. Rinse the seed chamber with warm water and mild soap monthly; allow to air-dry completely before refilling to prevent mold. Inspect the chain connection point each season for rust and apply a light coat of clear rust-inhibitor spray as needed.
Important Limitations
Outdoor use only — prolonged indoor storage in humid environments may accelerate iron oxidation. Iron construction is not treated for full submersion; do not pressure-wash. Capacity is approximately 2.2 lbs; overfilling above the window line may jam the lid. Not designed for nectar, suet cakes, or mealworms — use with dry seed only.
